Prince Harry blasted for causing ‘political drama’ over US residency

Prince Harry is a “protected species” under Joe Biden when it comes to his US residency, the former editor of The Sun Kelvin MacKenzie has claimed.

This comes as the US ambassador to the UK Jane Hartley claimed Prince Harry will “not be deported” under a Biden administration.

Asked about the current battle between the US courts and Prince Harry, Hartley said it’s “not going to happen in the Biden administration”.

Think tank The Heritage Foundation, who sparked the demand for the Duke’s visa documents to be made public, said Hartley’s remarks “dramatically enhance the already compelling public interest in disclosure”.

Speaking on GB News, MacKenzie criticised Hartley for shielding the Prince, but said he was “torn” on the debate about his US residency.

MacKenzie said: “If he’s kicked out of the United States, he has to come back here. I don’t want him back here!”

Discussing Prince Harry’s antics in America, MacKenzie continued: “The psychodrama is bad enough with him being 6,000 miles away. What would it be like if he was wondering around Windsor Great Park every day and bringing his Mrs with him?

“All I could see is massive aggro.”

Speaking to host Patrick Christys, MacKenzie argued that the battle over his residency is now a “political dispute” between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, who have completely opposing stances on his visa.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

MacKenzie explained: “Biden is saying if Trump’s in favour of kicking him out, I’m in favour of keeping him, and therefore he’s got caught up in some rather ridiculous political drama.

“I don’t want him back here. He lied on his visa because there was no money involved. He then writes a book and says ‘if you throw in I took drugs, then the value of my book goes up’.”

MacKenzie continued: “All it does is shows what a terrible piece of work he is. Please don’t bring him back here.”

Patrick highlighted the argument of Prince Harry’s lawyers, who claim “just because it’s in the book, doesn’t make it true”.

When asked if Prince Harry is receiving “special treatment” over his visa application, MacKenzie agreed: “It is special treatment, I totally agree. You can get very aggravated about it. And it’s a very odd world.

“But once you get into American politics, he is a protected species as far as the Democrats are concerned.”

Patrick responded: “There’s plenty of people who are denied access to America or who are booted out of America for drugs issues as well. I think it would look unbelievable if Harry isn’t.

“But of course, no doubt they deny any wrongdoing if that was possible in this situation.”
