Veteran DJ Tony Blackburn criticises ‘cold and uncaring’ Tesla after crash

Tony Blackburn, the veteran radio DJ, has criticised Tesla for its “cold” and unresponsive customer service after waiting months for his car to be repaired following a crash.

The presenter’s Model 3 Tesla was wrecked after a lorry ploughed into the back of it as he was driving on the M25 to record an episode of BBC’s Morning Live shortly before Christmas.

Blackburn, 81, said he was uninjured but has now been left waiting for two and half months without any response from Tesla.

He claimed he had been unable to reach a “human being” and had had to make all his enquiries via the Tesla app.

He said: “The trouble is there isn’t that personal service. I have been trying to get hold of them and you text and nobody answers.

“It’s really difficult to get hold of a human being.

“I love Tesla, it’s the best car I have ever driven. I have had it for three years, and that is why I upgraded it to this new one, but it’s just the after-sales service.

“It’s like they sell you a car but they don’t seem to care after that. It’s the best car I ever had; it’s just the way they do business, I don’t like it. It’s so cold, isn’t it?

“They just don’t seem to care and that’s what really annoys me about it. You can never speak to a human being. I have sent them a couple of emails and nobody answers.”
