Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor has tragically died, dance company Burn The Floor has confirmed today. The news of the dancer’s death was shared on FaceBook in the early hours of this morning on the company’s official page.

Robin was a founding member of Burn the Floor and had a professional partnership with fellow Strictly star Kristina Rihanoff. He starred in the BBC One dance show and its Christmas specials between 2010 and 2015 with several celebrity partners.

He has danced with the likes of Sara Cox, Lisa Riley, Alison Hammond, Deborah Meaden, Anita Dobson and Patsy Kensit. Burn the Floor led tributes to Robin today as they confirmed the sad news of his death.

Their post read: “The Burn the Floor family has lost one of its founding members, Robin ‘Bobby’ Windsor – who has tragically passed away. A BTF journeyman he danced with us for twenty years – including Broadway, The West End and all our crazy adventures around the world.

“His stunning image attached with Jessica Raffa defined our company, colourful, extreme and sensual. His talent, attitude, energy and personality helped create the Burn the Floor stage reputation.

Other fans and friends took to Twitter to pay tribute to Robin, with Elliot writing: “Sad news. Former Strictly professional Robin Windsor has passed away aged just 44. He was paired with Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley and Deborah Meaden on the show between 2010 and 2013. Thoughts are with his family, friends and colleagues at such a difficult time.”

Ellie penned: “Such a warm, talented, gorgeous human. He really was genuinely lovely, funny & kind. This is a real loss.”

Beth tweeted: “I cannot believe Robin Windsor has passed away. I remember watching and loving his partnership with Lisa Riley on Strictly when I was a kid, such a sad loss.”

Emily shared: “I’m in disbelief. Robin, the beautiful person you were. The world has lost so much more than your talent. I will always remember you for your kindness and generosity. I wish I could turn back the clock. Always part of the BTF family.”

Luke added: “What awful news to wake up to about Robin Windsor. I am shocked and saddened to hear this news. It was a real pleasure to watch him on #StrictlyComeDancing. RIP.”
