Prince Harry ‘blocked’ from having heart-to-heart with King in bid to get him to leave after UK return

Prince Harry was blocked from having a heart-to-heart with King Charles in a bid to get him to leave following his UK return, according to a source.

The Duke of Sussex flew to the UK last week to see the King after he was informed that his father had been diagnosed with cancer.

Harry and the monarch met for around 30 minutes at Clarence House in London before Charles departed from Sandringham.

A source has now claimed that the King’s youngest son originally planned to meet with his father at Sandringham but Palace aides wanted the meeting to take place in the capital.

The source added that this was due to fears the Duke of Sussex would not leave if the meeting took place at Sandringham.

A source told The Sun: “Harry came over to see his father, expecting to go to Sandringham.

“But instead he was asked to be at Clarence House and was restricted to 30 minutes.

“The fear was that if he went to Sandringham they would never get rid of him.”

The King and Harry are said to have shared multiple “warm exchanges” since the monarch’s cancer diagnosis.

Earlier this week, the duke confirmed that he will return to the UK soon as he intends to see his family “as much as he can”.

He told Good Morning America: “I have got many trips planned that will take me through the UK or back to the UK so I will see my family as much as I can.”
