‘Nothing real about this woman at all!’

GB News host Eamonn Holmes has blasted Meghan Markle’s reality TV ambitions and said that there is “nothing real” about her.

This comes after Meghan debuted her new lifestyle brand by sending strawberry jam out to influencers.

Meghan sent the limited-edition jars to promote the venture, which was announced online last month via an Instagram teaser video showing the duchess cooking and arranging white hydrangeas and roses.

Speaking on GB News Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, royal reporter Kinsey Schofield said: “I believe she’s trying to build an empire.

“I don’t know if that was what she was going to do originally when she left the British Royal Family. Remember, they told us that she was going to be living a life of service. Polling wise, it has been very difficult for the duke and duchess of Sussex, people in the States have an issue with them.

“Did they have to go down this path? Using Netflix to create content to kind of try to build this empire of gardening and what’s going on in the kitchen?

“They gave Netflix what they wanted, which is that reality show element. That was their only commercial success with the Harry and Meghan docuseries.

“So this is her dipping her toe in reality TV, but also having cameras in her face and being able to push her own products.”

Eamonn commented: “The irony is you used the word reality. There’s nothing real about this woman at all.”

Schofield explained that Meghan is probably “really disappointed” with how the past couple years have transpired for the Sussex brand, adding “that is real for her”.

Meghan and Harry quit their positions as senior royals in January 2020 and moved to the US.

The pair have since criticised the Royal Family heavily in the form of interviews and Harry’s memoir Spare.

They have taken on various business ventures recently, with the pair announcing that they will be releasing two new series on Netflix, one following Meghan’s lifestyle brand and another following Harry in the world of professional polo.

Little is know about Meghan’s new brand, American Riviera Orchard, but a trademark application filed in February shows the company may be planning to offer downloadable and printed recipe books, tableware, textiles, and jams and marmalades, according to the United States Patent and Trademark Office website.

Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK next month to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.

Meghan’s attendance was thrown into question by reports suggesting she does not feel safe returning to the UK anymore.

A source said: “It’s now got to the point where Meghan doesn’t want to come to the UK with the children. She just doesn’t feel safe.

“Both Harry and Meghan were planning to come to the UK, but when the exact time and date of their appearance [at the Invictus ceremony] were made public, she started to rethink that idea. The situation is now about whether the family should attend with increased security or Harry should go to it alone.”
