King Charles, 75, had previously been due to attend tonight’s event.

Looking regal in a teal green long dress, Queen Camilla praised specialists alongside the Duchess of Gloucester this evening.

The duchess was on hand to help, often referred to as the “underdog” of the Royal Family.

A leading participant at the ceremony included the Institute of Cancer Research in London for its pioneering work on breast cancer.

On social media platform X, royal fans praised the event and the royals. One wrote: “They work well together.”

Another user commented that they “both look marvellous”.

Similarly, one stated they respected the Duchess of Gloucester for “all the hard work” she has done over the years.

This comes as King Charles made a return to public-facing duties on Wednesday.

The monarch met Prime Minister Rishi Sunak at Buckingham Palace for their weekly audience.

The pair have communicated over the phone over the last few weeks, after the King confirmed he was diagnosed with a “form of cancer”.

The cancer was found during corrective surgery for an enlarged prostate, where Charles was treated at The London Clinic.

Princess Kate, 42, was also being treated in the same hospital for “planned abdominal surgery”.
