The delighted stars of Succession united on Sunday evening to celebrate their four Golden Globes gongs in style, eight months after the show ended.
The Jesse Armstrong helmed dramedy joined Oppenheimer in dominating the winners’ categories, with Succession taking away top gongs including Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Female Actor and Best Television Series
At the 81st Annual ceremony at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles stars and cast including Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, Frank Rich, Jesse, Matthew Macfadyen, Nicholas Braun, Alan Ruck and J. Smith-Cameron hit the stage to accept the gongs.
Kieran – who stars as the youngest Roy sibling Roman – beat co-stars Brian Cox and Jeremy Strong to win Best Actor, saying in his speech: ‘This isn’t mine, this is one for the team. It’s been said, but it’s a team effort, this show.’
Matthew scored the Best Supporting Actor Award for his role as Tom Wambsgan, saying: ‘I just adored every second playing the weird and wonderful human grease stain that is Tom Wambsgans’, while his on-screen wife Sarah won best Actress.

It was a joyous moment for the stars of the wildly successful show
Succession, which first aired in 2018, follows the story of the cutthroat Roy family, headed by Brian’s character Logan, battling it out to tale control of the world’s biggest media conglomerate when the patriarch steps down.
The final episode of Succession saw the fate and future of the Roy children and the company their late father Logan created hanging in the balance.
Last May, the show reached its finale in its fourth season.
The series built up to the last episodes, as Logan’s children – Kendall (Jeremy), Roman, Shiv (Sarah Snook) and Connor (Alan Ruck) – get ready for the final Waystar Royco board vote on the merger with Lukas Matsson’s (Alexander Skarsgard) GoJo.
The 90-minute series finale is directed by Mark Mylod and written by series creator Jesse Armstrong, and after many twists and turns, it is Tom Wambsgans (Matthew Macfadyen) who ultimately takes over as Waystar CEO, under new owner Matsson.
Sarah beat the likes of Emma Stone (The Curse), Imelda Staunton (The Crown), Helen Mirren (1923), Kerri Russell (The Diplomat) and Bella Ramsey (The Last of Us) in her category.
In her speech, she said: ‘This show, it’s changed my life. This was a team effort, it was always that was what made the show amazing.’ She finished her speech laughing ‘this room is so intimidating!’ before running off.

Sarah started out on the stage, appearing in King Lear with the State Theatre Company of South Australia in 2009, shortly after graduating from Australia’s most prestigious theatre school, NIDA.
Interestingly, Succession has often been likened to a modern day Shakespeare play, specifically King Lear. That same year, Sarah starred along Winslet once again, this time in the Steve Jobs biopic.
In 2020, Sarah was nominated for an Emmy and a Critics’ Choice Television Award for her role in the series.

Stone, 35, first received a standing ovation as she won over Alma Pöysti – Fallen Leaves, Fantasia Barrino – The Color Purple (2023), Jennifer Lawrence – No Hard Feelings, Margot Robbie – Barbie, and Natalie Portman – May December.
Emma was gracious as she hit the stage and even thanked husband Dave McCrary first as she said: ‘Thank you. Oh, boy. Thank you. This is amazing. Thank you. Dave, I have to start with you quickly. I love you so much. Thank you for everything.’
She went on to thank her co-stars in the film Willem Dafoe, Mark Ruffalo, and Ramy Youssef.
Barbie won in a new category as the blockbuster film triumphed in Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
It won out over Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, John Wick: Chapter 4, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 1, Oppenheimer, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, and The Super Mario Bros. Movie.

‘Thank you, and thank you to everybody, all the Barbies and Kens in front of and behind the screen.
‘It was the greatest most joyful show of craftsmanship and passion I’ve ever seen. And on behalf of Tom and David and Robbie and I, we want to thank the brave individuals at Warner and Mattel for taking an extraordinary risk in literally inventing numbers to justify green lighting this, and then standing by at every step of the way.
‘Thank you to Noah Baumbach for showing his inner Barbie girl. Thank you to Ryan gosling for going full beach. And America Ferrera for showing her soul. ‘
