The Prime Minister reportedly plans to warn that the country has turned a corner under his stewardship and that a Labour government risks that recovery. Labour’s £28 billion green spending plan will be painted as reckless.
Interviewed by the Mail on Sunday, Mr Holden said: “The chance of a May election is about a third. It is more likely to be at the back end of the year. My job is to be ready whenever it happens.”

With Labour maintaining a consistent lead of some 20 points over their rivals, some have speculated that the Prime Minister will wait until January 2025 before going to the country.
