Fortnite players have criticized Chapter 5 Season 2 placement of the new POIs for making the rest of the map seem obsolete.
Players were initially a little bit frustrated with Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 after having to wait through 19 hours of downtime to play, but now that the update is finally here fans seem to love it.
The Season, Myths and Mortals, draws inspiration from the Greek pantheon of Gods, introducing NPCs into the game like the mighty God of Thunder Zeus, and some seriously cool skins like the Poseidon outfit.
Epic Games added new mythic items to the game, and also new POIs that players will have to brave if they want to earn the new items.

But, Fortnite fans were upset with the effects that the map design had on the other areas of the map, essentially making them “pointless”.
Fortnite players unhappy with new POI placement
One player shared their disappointment about the new Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2 POI design on social media:
“Should have split the new POIs evenly, nothing to do outside of the red area,” they said, including an image where the new POIs and the small space in between them were marked in red.

They weren’t the only Fortnite fan to feel the same about the new map, with others sharing their frustrations online too.
“Medallions are way too close to each other,” complained one player. “Exactly, the rest of the map feels completely barren and pointless; it’s kind of depressing, even. They should have kept the bosses and previous mythics and simply added the new stuff on top,” agreed another player.

Still, with Season Myths and Mortals not even a week old yet, some people reminded players that the popularity of the new POIs would only be temporary while the content is brand new:
“Well tbf people will always go to the newest POI since the season JUST DROPPED,” said one player.
Who can blame players for wanting to land at the new POIs when the challenge of facing Zeus awaits, with the reward for any victorious player being the powerful Mythic Huntress DMR.
