England host Belgium at Wembley later tonight in the final game before Gareth Southgate names his squad for Euro 2024.

Teenage striker Endrick scored the only goal of the game as Brazil beat the Three Lions on Saturday during a break in which England have been beset by injuries.

While there is little point on dwelling on results in friendlies, it was a frustrating night for Southgate’s side.

There were certainly positive moments, a lack of defensive cover is a major concern and Southgate is without a number of key players for his final game before naming his squad for this summer’s tournament in Germany.

Kyle Walker and Harry Maguire will not be available after pulling out of the England squad injured on Sunday night. Captain Harry Kane will play no part again having returned to Germany to nurse an ankle problem, while Bukayo Saka has already pulled out of the squad.

Brentford’s Ivan Toney is expected to start up front, with Declan Rice named captain and Manchester United sensation Kobbie Mainoo also potentially set for his first start, with Jordan Henderson ruled out.

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer is back in training and James Trafford and Rico Lewis were both promoted from the Under-21 squad at the weekend.

Belgium, meanwhile, could start Romelu Lukaku after a recent groin injury. Kevin De Bruyne is missing, though Jeremy Doku and Amadou Onana could both feature from the off.
