Chelmsford High Street road shut near Tesco and McDonald’s as man hospitalised after stabbing

A man has been hospitalised with a stab wound after an incident on a major road in Chelmsford. Emergency services were called to Springfield Road in Chelmsford shortly after 4am on Sunday (March 24).

Officers from Essex Police attended and, within two minutes, arrested two men on suspicion of affray. A man, 20s, was taken to hospital after suffering a single stab wound.




Officers remain on the scene whilst their investigation continues. The road remains closed between Tesco Roundabout and the High Street.

The location of the stabbing is a major area in Chelmsford city centre. It is close to the Tesco supermarket and nearby McDonalds sites, as well as being near Popworld whilst Bar and Beyond is nearby too.
