Arsenal fans and players celebrated as Liverpool’s thrilling 1-1 draw with Manchester City on Sunday saw them remain at the top of the Premier League.

Anfield played host to an exhilarating clash between the last two teams to win the division, that also happened to be two of the three sides gunning for the honour this term.

The other, Arsenal, ascended to the top of the pile on Saturday evening thanks to a late win over Brentford at the Emirates and the draw in the north west ensured that Mikel Arteta’s side will lead the way going into the final ten games of the campaign.

Gunners fans and players could not hide their delight in topping the tree for the first time since December, with one notable supporter, Piers Morgan, confident the side can win all their remaining games to ensure a first top-flight title in two decades.

‘BREAKING: Arsenal are top of the Premier League.’ He wrote on X, formerly Twitter. ‘If we win our last 10 games, we’re champions. And this team can do it.’

Morgan shared his belief that Mikel Arteta’s side are capable of winning each of their remaining league games
Alexis Mac Allister’s second-half penalty rescued a point for the home side on Sunday

Though, technically untrue that ten further victories will guarantee a league title, Arsenal’s superior goal difference is what separates them from Liverpool, while the pair are just a point ahead of City in third.

Morgan was joined in his excitement by one of Arteta’s star players Jorginho. The Italian posted an image of himself celebrating the win over the Bees, which he accompanies with the message: ‘VAMOS!! Let’s keep pushing.’

One fan wrote: ‘[Arsenal] are the biggest winners this weekend, couldn’t have asked for a better result from Anfield than a draw. Let’s cement our place at the top going into the final stretch of the league season.’

Another rejoiced: ‘We are top of the league We will win the EPL title Bring on city and United.

‘It’s simple as that ! We have to decide our fate!’ Said a third supporter.

Arsenal have been in inspired form since they returned from a winter break to Dubai, winning all eight of their league games and scoring 33 goals in the process.

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho also celebrated the stalemate with a post on social media after the result

Jorginho and Morgan were joined by similarly overjoyed Arsenal fans, who shared the belief the result will lead to silverware in May

They would equal the all-time Premier League record, jointly held by Liverpool and City, for consecutive games won if they indeed managed to run the slate.

Though, that begins with a daunting trip to the Etihad to face Guardiola’s side after the international break.

Arsenal are hoping to go one better than last season when they fell away in the final weeks of the campaign, having led the pack for the majority of the year.
