Dramatic pictures show the roof of a bus left wrecked after it smashed into a tree on a main road in south Manchester.
The crash happened on Wilbraham Road in Chorlton at around 7.50am this morning (Friday). Police officers, fire crews and paramedics were scrambled to the scene as the road was taped off in both directions.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said the Stagecoach bus collided with a tree. No serious injuries were reported and no arrests were made, the M.E.N understands.

Pictures show the bus left wrecked, with the roof completely detached from the top deck. A spokesperson for the fire service said crews ‘removed the roof’ as they responded.
A stretch of the road remains closed off between Edge Lane and Oswald Road. Traffic is being diverted away from the area, with some bus routes also on a diversion.
In a statement, a spokesperson for GMP said: “Police were called to reports of a collision on Wilbraham Road in Manchester at around 7:50am this morning (2 February 2024), where a bus collided with a tree.”
A spokesperson for the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At around 8am this morning one fire engine from Stretford fire station attended a crash involving a bus and a tree on Wilbraham Road, Chorlton.
“Firefighters have removed the roof from the bus and have assisted colleagues from Greater Manchester Police in making the scene safe. Crews remain in attendance.”
Stagecoach has also been contacted for a comment this morning.
