Victor Osimhen tipped to snub Arsenal and Chelsea transfers for unexpected deal

Victor Osimhen has been heavily linked with a Premier League switch but now he’s being tipped to make a controversial move to Juventus – one of Napoli’s great rivals

Victor Osimhen has been tipped for a move to Juventus by the club’s former player, Alessandro Matri, despite huge Premier League interest in the striker.

Napoli recently saw the Nigerian extend his deal as he continues to impress in Serie A. Osimhen helped fire the Naples-outfit to their first top flight title since the days of Diego Maradona and plenty of Europe’s heavyweights are keen to land the marksman.

Osimhen recently penned a contract that included a hefty release clause, but it is one the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United may be happy to pay. Now though Juventus are being talked up as a potential destination with the club seeking a prolific forward, although the player’s release clause isn’t valid for Napoli’s domestic rivals.

He said on DAZN: “I would not rule out Osimhen going to Juventus. If Vlahovic ends this season well, he could be sold for €70m, while Matias Soulé can also bring in a very healthy profit. The purchase would not be unsustainable and don’t forget Juve have done this before with Gonzalo Higuain. They saved money this season and if they qualify for the Champions League, they’d have that extra cash to spend.”

There is huge rivalry between the Old Lady and Napoli, but that didn’t stop Higuain’s transfer going through. Napoli have proved they are willing to part with their top stars for the right fee and Juventus could be prepared to test their resolve.

Higuain proved to be a success initially in Turin and the Italian outfit are looking to add more firepower to their squad. Napoli’s under par season could mean they miss out on European football all together, which could make keeping hold of Osimhen all the more challenging.

The Nigerian confessed in a recent interview that he does have the desire to eventually play in England, but was more than happy at Napoli for the time being. He told Sky Sports: “Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows.”

Osimhen also added: “I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie. He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened.”

Osimhen has scored 67 times for Napoli since making the move from Lille back in the summer of 2020 and is currently trying to achieve AFCON glory.
