Transfer news LIVE: Phillips exit TWIST, Firmino ‘offered SHOCK Premier League return’, Spurs ‘eye’ Chelsea’s Gallagher

Prem trio eye non league talent

Crystal Palace, Wolves and Brentford are eyeing Bromley midfielder Ben Krauhaus.

SunSport understands ten clubs including Leicester, Norwich, Cardiff, Hull and Oxford all sent scouts to watch Krauhaus score twice in last Saturday’s 5-1 win over Ebbsfleet.

The 19-year-old academy graduate has caught the eye and helped non-league Bromley into second spot in the National League behind leaders Chesterfield.

With spies galore visiting Hayes Lane, the club are braced for bids in the current transfer window for the central midfielder.

Man Utd target Chelsea flop

Manchester United are considering a shock move for former Chelsea forward Timo Werner, according to The Mirror.

The Germany international had mixed success at Chelsea, whom he left to rejoin RB Leipzig in the summer of 2022.

Werner has only scored two goals in 14 appearances in all competitions this term, but United still think he could do a job in Manchester.

Birmingham plot Wayne Rooney replacement

Twenty candidates are in the running to be Birmingham’s new manager following the sacking of Wayne Rooney.

The Blues axed the Manchester United legend after he won just two matches in 15 games.

Ex-Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray is set for talks later this week, claim the Daily Mail.

Reports also suggest that Frank Lampard is in the running.

He has a large enough profile to appeal to US owners Knighthead but it is unclear whether the Chelsea legend would want the job.

Man Utd explain Reguilon loan ending

Manchester United have revealed why they cut short Sergio Reguilon’s loan from Tottenham.

He played just 12 games for Erik ten Hag’s men and made little impact at Old Trafford.

And with Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia set to return soon from their respective injuries, they do not feel Reguilon would be given sufficient game time during the second half of the campaign.

A club statement read: “Sergio fulfilled the role he was brought in for: to provide cover for Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia while both were out with long-term injuries.

“While Luke has missed the past two games with a minor injury, the England international is expected back soon. Tyrell, meanwhile, is getting closer to a return from his knee injury.

“The versatile Diogo Dalot can also provide further cover at left-back.

“With fewer games in the second half of the season and injured players returning, there will be less opportunity for Sergio to play.

“It was decided it was in the best interests of all parties for Reguilon to return to Spurs.”
