Supermarkets are recalling Scratch Chicken Pad Thai with Noodles & Veggies because they include peanuts which is not mentioned on the label.
Anaphylaxis is the most severe form of allergic reaction which can be life-threatening.
The supermarket stated: “Scratch is recalling their Scratch Chicken Pad Thai 380g with the above use by dates as a precautionary measure, as it may contain peanuts which is not stated on the label.
“This means the product could pose a risk to consumers with an allergy or intolerance to peanuts.
“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanuts, do not eat it. Instead, return it to your local Sainsbury’s store for a full refund (with or without receipt).”

Packs with use by dates of January January 25 – 28 2024 have been recalled.
Most allergic reactions to peanuts are mild but they can also be moderate or severe.
Mild to moderate symptoms include itchy mouth, tongue and throat, swelling of lips or around the eyes or face, red raised itchy rash, vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, runny nose and sneezing. It can also be life-threatening in some cases.
Major supermarket Tesco also stocks this Scratch meal.
While food recalls are not too common, they must be taken seriously when they do occur.
The Food Standards Agency said: “Sometimes there will be a problem with a food product that means it should not be sold.
“Then it might be ‘withdrawn’ (taken off the shelves) or ‘recalled’ (when customers are asked to return the product).
“Sometimes foods have to be withdrawn or recalled if there is a risk to consumers because the allergy labelling is missing or incorrect or if there is any other food allergy risk.
“When there is a food allergy risk, the FSA will issue an Allergy Alert.”
