PHILIPPE CLEMENT has made four changes to his starting eleven for today’s Scottish Gas Men’s Scottish Cup semi-final against Hearts at Hampden Park.
After Wednesday night’s Scottish Premiership visit to Dens Park, the Rangers manager has brought Leon Balogun, Rabbi Matondo, Mohamed Diomande and Cyriel Dessers back into his team to face Steven Naismith’s side at the national stadium, with Connor Goldson, Fabio Silva, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe named on the bench having featured against Dundee in midweek.
The Light Blues, of course, faced the Jambos in the 2022 Scottish Cup final and lifted the trophy for the 34th time in their history, with goals from Ryan Jack and Scott Wright securing a 2-0 victory.
Today, Clement’s men side will be looking to take a step closer to their second piece of silverware of the season with the League Cup already back at Ibrox following a 1-0 win over Aberdeen in the December final when James Tavernier found the net.
With Jack Butland between the posts this afternoon, a back four of captain Tavernier, Balogun, John Souttar and Dujon Sterling will protect the club’s towering number one.
The midfield trio will consist of John Lundstram, Diomande and Todd Cantwell with Abdallah Sima and Matondo providing support and service to main striker Dessers.
Joining Goldson, Silva, Lawrence and Roofe on the Gers bench are Robby McCrorie, Kieran Dowell, Borna Barisic, Nico Raskin and Ross McCausland.
