People in the UK with an NHS work identity card can get a free “tall beverage” from Starbucks today (December 6), the coffee giant has announced.
Starbucks said that this is the fourth year that it has offered free coffees to NHS workers, which it described as a “a festive thank you” to healthcare workers.
It described the promotion as forming part of its support for NHS Charities Together, a national independent charity providing support to the NHS.

The promotion entitles a person to one free “tall handcrafted beverage” when they show their “valid NHS ID card” at a Starbucks store or drive-through, it said.
Any “tall beverage” is eligible for the promotion, including festive products, iced beverages, coffee and non-coffee drinks such as hot chocolate, it added.
“Bottled drinks” are excluded from the offer, as are drinks ordered using apps, according to Starbucks.
“Token of our appreciation”
Alex Rayner, general manager at Starbucks UK, said that the offer was “a token of our appreciation” for the work of people in the NHS.
He added that Starbucks is “thrilled” about its partnership with NHS Charities Together.
Louise McCathie, director of fundraising at NHS Charities Together, said that the charity “deeply” appreciates its partnership with Starbucks, adding that it is “proud” of Starbucks’ “ongoing work and support” for it.
