Sarah Ferguson has issued a pleading public statement on social media following her second “shock” cancer diagnosis.
The duchess, 64, took to Instagram today to talk about her cancer diagnoses and to urge Brits not to skip their health check-ups warning, “days could be the difference between life and death”.

“I’m determined to do whatever I can to help raise awareness by sharing my experience.
“I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and melanoma, an aggressive form of skin cancer, this year and had it not been for the diligence and care of my physicians, my situation could have been so much worse.”
In January, a mole was removed from Fergie’s body and tested for malignant melanoma. The duchess previously urged the public to check the “size, shape, colour and texture and emergence of new moles” that can be a sign of cancer.
The duchess also revealed that because she had already been diagnosed with breast cancer the previous year, she almost put off going for her routine mammogram, but her sister convinced her to go.

She commented: “After undergoing a mastectomy and reconstruction, I could only hope that I was in the clear, which is why a new diagnosis of skin cancer came as a shock.”
The Duchess of York- mother to Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice- said she remains positive following her diagnoses “with the support of my family.”
Ferguson posted the statement alongside a picture of herself standing in a vibrant pink, long coat and matching wide leg trousers from a photoshoot in March 2023.
The duchess rounded of her post with a final plea: “Days could make the difference between life and death, so please don’t skip or out of your #healthchecks and urge your loved ones to go to theirs.”

Fans responded to the duchess’s post sending their well wishes and revealing their own personal experiences with health check-ups.
One well-wisher said: “Thank you for sharing your experience in order to help other people. Your dedication is a continuous true inspiration.”
Christopher Horne, the photographer who took the photo on Fergie’s post, described the duchess as a “light” and praised her “bravery and resilience.”
