THE colossal clash between Rangers and Celtic is here.
The Old Firm rivals are preparing go head-to-head in a colossal clash that will have huge implications for this year’s Premiership title race.
The Hoops have won both clashes between the two this campaign – a 1-0 win at Ibrox in September and a 2-1 December victory at Celtic Park.
Despite that, they take just a slender one-point lead to Govan this afternoon with the Gers also having a game in hand.
Callum McGregor is, as expected, back in the Celtic squad – but he does NOT start at Ibrox.
Brendan Rodgers has named an unchanged XI from last week’s 3-0 win over Livingston with the returning captain among the substitutes.
Rangers were sweating on the fitness of Ridvan Yilmaz – and he has not made the squad at all.
It’s Dujon Sterling who starts at left-back while in another huge call, Todd Cantwell is dropped to the bench with Tom Lawrence starting.
Rangers XI: Butland; Tavernier (c), Goldson, Souttar, Sterling; Lundstram, Lawrence, Diomande; S Wright, Dessers, Silva.
Rangers subs: McCrorie (GK), Cantwell, Matondo, Sima, Dowell, Balogun, Barisic, King, McCausland.
Celtic XI: Hart; Johnston, Carter-Vickers (c), Scales, Taylor; O’Riley, Iwata, Hatate; Kuhn, Kyogo, Maeda.
Celtic subs: Bain (GK), Idah, Yang, Nawrocki, Bernardo, McGregor, Forrest, Ralston, Welsh.
