OUR OPPONENTS: West Ham United

David Moyes returned for a second spell in charge of West Ham in December 2019 and has delivered three consecutive seasons of European football, along with back-to-back seventh-place finishes.

The highlight of the Scotsman’s tenure in E20 came in May, as the Hammers won the UEFA Europa Conference League, with Jarrod Bowen scoring a dramatic late winner in Prague to overcome Italian outfit Fiorentina.

Despite silverware, they were unable to keep hold of three-time ‘Hammer of the Year’ Declan Rice as the England international moved across London to Arsenal for a transfer worth in excess of £100 million, while Manuel Lanzini also departed the club after seven years in East London.

Moyes strengthened his side in the summer with four first-team signings, most notably James Ward-Prowse who has contributed 11 assists and 3 goals in all competitions since joining in the summer.

The Irons currently sit sixth in the Premier League, undefeated in their last four league outings including impressive wins over Manchester United and Arsenal in recent weeks.
