A leisure centre in Salford has been hit by a huge blaze.
Firefighting crews were called to Clarendon Leisure Centre just before 3am on Friday. Images showed a huge blaze in progress.
The blaze has been extinguished but photos show the extent of the damage. Follow live updates from the scene here.
In a statement, GMFRS said: “At around 2.45am today (Friday, May 10) eight fire engines from across Greater Manchester plus the command support unit from Hyde fire station, the prime mover from Bolton fire station, and the technical response from Leigh were called to a fire involving a leisure centre off Liverpool Street, Salford.
“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus worked quickly to get the blaze under control using hose reels and jets. Crews remain in attendance alongside partners from Greater Manchester Police and Salford City Council with road closures in place.”
