Former This Morning host Phillip Schofield was seen walking in London with Stephanie on Monday as he turned 62
Phillip Schofield’s wife Stephanie Lowe appears to have forgiven the lying TV star – after the pair were seen out walking matching dogs on his birthday.
Former This Morning host Phil was seen walking in London with Stephanie on Monday as he turned 62. And he was alongside Stephanie who he married in 1993 and the pair even appear to have puppies from the same litter. Phillip and Stephanie would have celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on Friday.
But their relationship has been tested to the absolute limits when Schofield admitted lying to his family and ITV bosses about an “unwise” affair with a young male runner from This Morning.
In a statement last year he said: “I did have a consensual on-off relationship with a younger male colleague at This Morning. Contrary to speculation, whilst I met the man when he was a teenager and was asked to help him to get into television, it was only after he started to work on the show that it became more than just a friendship. That relationship was unwise, but not illegal. It is now over.”
He then gave an interview to Amol Rajan in June and admitted his relationship with Stephanie “isn’t brilliant right now,” but they have “a wonderful marriage.” The former ITV star defiantly flashed his wedding ring and hinted they could repair their relationship in the future, after reports at the time suggested Stephanie has been left both furious and devastated by his admission that he had an affair.
Phillip told the BBC: “I had a wonderful marriage, have a wonderful marriage [waves his wedding ring], although it’s not brilliant right now, with an incredibly supportive wife and two wonderful children.” Host Amol noted that they were currently separated, with Phillip adding: “We are separated but we are very much together.”
Asked what he’d like to say to Stephanie, Phillip said: “Oh my god, can you imagine how difficult that conversation was?” before pausing and stated: “Let’s just say it was an incredibly difficult conversation.”
It has been months since Schofield was seen in public with his wife, but in February he was seen out for a walk with the same puppy and his daughter Molly. He has kept a low profile since quitting TV last year and said he thought his TV career was over.
At the time he said: “I’m not in television any more, I don’t know what I am even remotely – if I get through this. I don’t know even remotely how I move forward – what am I going to do with my days?”
He went on: “I did something very wrong and then I lied about it consistently and you can’t live with that. How do you live with that?” He has not been on screen since, despite rumours of possible interviews on TV channels.
