  • ‘I just couldn’t believe that he was out and able to do it again after doing it so many times,’ Mastin told NewsNation

An Ohio woman who feared she would die at the hands of a serial kidnapper has shared her horror after his latest arrest.

William Mozingo, 33, has been jailed four times for abducting and torturing young women, and was arrested again last month after Chloe Jones, 23, was found with a fractured skull at an isolated garage in Kenmore, Ohio.

Mackenzie Mastin, who was abducted in 2017, has promised to give evidence at his next trial after he was sentenced to 18 months for the attack on her.

But she fears that the tattooed brute will inevitably be freed to hurt more women.

‘I just couldn’t believe that he was out and able to do it again after doing it so many times,’ she told NewsNation.

Mackenzie Mastin told NewsNation ‘I just hope that he gets what he deserves and that they will learn their lesson this time and not let him walk on the streets and hurt another woman’

‘My prayers go out to Chloe and her family for what she had to go through, and I just want her to know that she’s not alone in this.’

Mastin was repeatedly beaten and threatened with a knife after Mozingo seized her along with his own young brother for three days at a house in Canton.

‘He would continuously put a knife to our throat and saying that he was going to kill us,’ she said.

‘And he would threaten to break my jaw if, you know, I cried or yelled for help or anything like that.

‘He would continuously beat on us, my eyes were all blacked out and swollen from him doing that to us.

‘He had us locked in that room for three days and he kept saying that we weren’t going to be able to go back home to my parents.

‘It was probably the most scariest experience of my life.’

Chloe Jones was also told she would never see her family again after she made the mistake of accepting a lift from Mozingo last month.

The young mother was held without water for four days before she was discovered battered and bruised by the garage’s owner who tipped off police.

Mastin was one of the women hospitalized by Mozingo after being held for three days

Mozingo had doused her with gas and repeatedly hit her with a baseball bat before police arrested him at gunpoint.

‘It was terrifying. Being in fear of your life countless times, I can’t even count how many times he threatened my life,’ she told Fox8.

She said it was only the thought of her young son that helped her survive.

‘I thought about him every day,’ she explained, ‘I just saw his face in my head every day.

‘I want to tell the young girls across America, it’s not safe to get into a car with people you don’t know or a friend of a friend.’

Mozingo was first jailed for abduction in 2011, and was on parole for further kidnapping offences when he attacked both Mastin and Jones

In 2014, he was sentenced to nine months for abduction and he was arrested again in 2017 for holding a woman at knifepoint in a Walmart restroom.

Jailed for 18 months after the attack on Mastin he was released in December 2018.

Four months later, he was arrested for imprisoning a 29-year-old ex-girlfriend at his home in Canton, beating her, strangling her and holding a knife to her throat.

She was found on a nearby road unconscious, badly beaten and half-naked four days later before being rushed to hospital with a severe head injury.

Police bodycam captured the moment of Mozingo’s latest arrest at a garage in Kenmore, Ohio

Stark County Court sentenced him to another 18 months, and he was released on parole ahead of his latest recorded attack.

Mozingo is currently being held on a $100,000 bond at Summit County Jail ahead of his next court appearance on charges including kidnapping, abduction, assault, unlawful restraint and parole violation.

Kidnapping alone can be punished by a life sentence under Ohio’s penal code and Mastin is optimistic that the courts might finally recognize the escalating danger.

‘I just hope that he gets what he deserves and that they will learn their lesson this time and not let him walk on the streets and hurt another woman again,’ she said.
