I was diagnosed 30 years ago but my viral load is undetectable because of my medication, so it’s impossible for me to pass it on.
Because of this, I decided to hold back from telling my girlfriend until I felt the time was right.
The last thing I wanted was to scare her off. I know how it can sound.
When I finally came clean to her I felt as if a weight had been lifted off my shoulders, but I could instantly see how worried she was.
I did everything to reassure her, but she told me she felt betrayed.
Ever since she’s become distant and has avoided sex at all costs.
The last thing I want is to lose her, but I’m worried sick that it’s already happened.
