Moment ‘attention-seeking’ van driver torments motorists by refusing to budge at a green light – before going through at last-minute and leaving everyone else stuck as it turns red

A van driver who illegally filmed himself stuck at a traffic light in London taunted fellow motorists by only moving from the junction as the signal turned from green to red.

The Ford Transit driver moves the handset around the cab, showing his surroundings.

The miscreant motorist was stopped on the junction of Morning Street and Mare Street in Hackney, east London, opposite the Hackney Empire, when he decided to annoy fellow motorists.

In the controversial video posted online by scaffolder Liam on Tuesday he can be heard saying ‘watch how c**** I’m going to be’.

A van driver called Liam from Sevenoaks filmed himself at the wheel of his van sitting at a set of lights opposite the Hackney Empire theatre

The 35-year-old records the huge queue of cars behind him at the traffic lights and says ‘watch me teach them a lesson’ before the lights turn green.

Annoyed motorists frantically beep as they realise he isn’t moving but Liam simply giggles and then pulls away as the lights are about to change from amber to red.

He laughs and says ‘have that, you c***s’ as he films the heavy traffic moving a few feet forward to stop at the lights again.

Liam’s video has been viewed more than 2.5 million times with many users slamming him as ‘sad’ and ‘desperate for attention’.

Some have even tagged the Met Police into tweets as they thought he was using his phone at the wheel, but Liam has since claimed he recorded the footage on a ‘GoPro attached to his seatbelt’.

He’s since boasted he plans to pull the stunt again today and wants to do it to ‘p**s off the drivers even more’.

Liam, who claims to be from Sevenoaks, Kent, said: ‘I just think the world are c***s.

‘I’m actually on the way to drive back there now and do it again because I’ve made such a thing of it and because I want to p**s off the arsehole drivers behind me even more.’

The video has more than 185 comments, with the majority of them slamming Liam’s stunt.

One commented: ‘Actually sad. You must hate your life, man. Maybe get into some form of martial arts. It could elevate you.’

A second added: ‘Desperate for attention, McDonald’s breakfast, and you can’t afford to fill up your tank with petrol. Peak times.’

A third warned: ‘Mate, they will catch you up at the next set of lights. Better make sure your doors are locked.’

A fourth said: ‘You wouldn’t do this with a car full of lads behind though, would you, big man?’

Liam replied: ‘I would and I would go out on my shield. Don’t you know I’m a scaffolder so I’m instantly off my nut.’

One sarcastically wrote: ‘I hope you step on a piece of lego.’

Another said: ‘Weird move. People are just trying to get on.’

One tagged the police and said: ‘I’m sure @metpoliceuk would be interested in you using your mobile whilst driving!’

Liam hit back at the claim, saying: ‘It’s a 360 degrees GoPro attached to my seat belt. It’s 2023.’

One user even tagged the police and wrote: ‘I can’t imagine how genuinely sad you must be. @metpoliceuk.’

Another said: ‘Strange behaviour for likes. Great to see.’

However, one said: ‘I’m a day late to the best video to surface the internet this week.’

Another agreed and said: ‘Quality.’

A third said: ‘Unreal.’

Liam replied: ‘Thank you, sir.’
