ITV Sunday mixes Newmarket, Hamilton, and Salisbury and starts here with the Listed Pretty Polly Stakes for 3yo over 1m2f. Kalpana looked special in handicap company off a mark of 78 but I can’t tip her at a short price here even though that was a devastating win.

I’ll chance FRIENDLY SOUL each-way for the John and & Thady Gosden camp with Kieran Shoemark on top. My selection is related to strong stayers and made a taking debut at Kempton in December. The Gosden horses have been needing a run but this filly wasn’t in action that long ago so hopefully will be fit enough.

A handicap over 1m5f. RAVENSCRAIG CASTLE was fourth in this last year and has been set up for another try with a run over an inadequate trip. My hope stays well and is on a reasonable handicap mark so should give us a good run under Andrew Mullen, Iain Jardine does the training.

Up in class now for the Group 2 Dahlia over 1m1f. This time last year RUNNING LION looked special in the Pretty Polly but she flopped badly in the French Oaks before going on to run all right at Salisbury and Newmarket when third in the Dubai Stakes behind Time Lock. This is as short as she has been over for a long time and it might just be this is her ideal trip. Goes for John & Thady Gosden under Oisin Murphy.

Here’s a conditions stakes for juveniles over 5f. A tricky race as youngsters can improve so much for a run. RUNNING QUEEN showed promise at Newbury on debut when fourth behind the impressive and strongly backed Hawaiian and should know more here. Ollie Sangster trains and Kieren Fallon takes the mount.

A handicap over 1m6f. I’m convinced there is a decent prize in VAGUELY ROYAL and this might be his day for John & Thady Gosden and Kieran Shoemark. My selection has been running well over two miles, with a decent third at Lingfield followed by a fifth to the bang-in-form Prydwen on all-weather championship finals day at Newcastle. A slight drop in trip here is ideal. An each-way chance.

The big race of the day in the second British Classic of the season, the 1000 Guineas for 3yo over 1m. I’m a huge fan of DANCE SEQUENCE and nothing she did in defeat in the Nell Gwyn put me off. In fact, I came away liking her more than beforehand and had the same feeling that I had when Galopin des Champs got stuffed and bookmakers pushed him out for the 2024 Gold Cup, mainly that they had got it wrong.

Dance Sequence was impressive for Charlie Appleby in the Oh So Sharp, a brilliant winner of this race of course back in the day, and I’m sure the ground and step up in trip are ideal. Charlie Appleby trains for Godolphin with William Buick taking the ride.

So best of luck and pray for Yeeehaaas. You hear me Paddy?
