Almost a week on from one of the weirdest afternoon’s in Manchester United’s recent history, questions continue to be asked of Erik ten Hag.
Just minutes after a late goal from Antony had seemingly given Ten Hag a priceless win against Premier League strugglers Burnley, the Clarets made the most of a clanger from Andre Onana by converting a last-gasp penalty to pinch a 1-1 draw.
The result – and performance – will have done little to persuade Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Ineos that Ten Hag is the right man to take them forward next year as speculation continues to rumble on over his long-term future.

Erik ten Hag pulled no punches in his post-match assessment after watching his team blow another lead against Burnley.
Manchester United were in cruise control against Coventry City of the Championship in last weekend’s FA Cup semi-final before a late collapse left them needing a penalty shootout to book a date against Manchester City in next month’s final.

Sherwood takes aim at Mainoo
Sky Sports pundit Tim Sherwood tore into Manchester United’s flops after they failed to beat struggling Burnley at Old Trafford.
Sherwood covered the game for the broadcaster and was quick to tear apart United’s efforts in midfield, claiming that Ten Hag’s team “do not run”.
THe former then targeted United prodigy Kobbie Mainoo, claiming the talented youngster has “caught the Casemiro bug” following an ineffective display.

Garnacho’s brother hits out
Alejandro Garnacho’s brother, Roberto, has taken a swipe at Cody Gakpo on social media.
The sibling of the Argentina international has been active on social media throughout the season and posted in response to reports that Arne Slot is set to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool in the summer.
Garnacho’s brother took the opportunity to direct a jibe at Gakpo, who has struggled to nail down a regular spot in Klopp’s team since joining the Reds in January 2023.
