Kate’s uncle has defended repeatedly mentioning the Princess of Wales after his Celebrity Big Brother eviction.
Gary Goldsmith, 58, has become the first celebrity to be evicted from the Big Brother house.
Appearing on Celebrity Big Brother: Late & Live for his exit interview, Goldsmith was quizzed on repeatedly mentioning his royal connections on the ITV show.
Host Will Best said: “You did say you wanted to show a different side to yourself.

“Maybe away from the whole royal connection thing, but you did seem to hang loyally on to the Crown Jewels, shall we say, throughout the show.
“Let’s just take a quick look to remind ourselves of that.”
The cameras then cut to a video showing Goldsmith repeatedly talking about the Royal Family during his time in the Big Brother house.
After the video played, host AJ Odudu commented: “You seem to be surprised you mentioned the Royal Family so many times there, Gary.”
Goldsmith replied: “To be fair, people were asking me about it. They didn’t know what else I was.
“What do you do, G? Why are you here, if not for that?
“People were asking me a lot of questions, specifically about that, they didn’t know what else to ask me.
“I did volunteer it a lot. Fair’s fair. Yeah, you caught me.”
During his time on the ITV show, he spoke about everything from his opinions about Meghan Markle to Princess Kate’s whereabouts following her abdominal surgery in January 2024.
The 58-year-old businessman is the younger brother of Carole Middleton.
He is therefore an uncle to the Princess of Wales, Pippa Middleton, and James Middleton.
