Kate Middleton ‘will be honoured at St Patrick’s Day parade with three cheers’ as she continues recovery from surgery

PRINCESS Kate will be honoured by three cheers at the St Patrick’s Day parade, as she continues to rest after her surgery.

Kate, 42, is missing the event at the Mons Barracks in Aldershot, Hampshire, for the first time in seven years as she recuperates from her planned abdominal operation.

Prince William will also be sitting out of the parade tomorrow.

In light of Kate’s absence, the soldiers are going to honour her with three cheers as their parade draws to a close, as reported by PEOPLE.

The mum-of-three, who became the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards last year, has only missed one St Patrick’s Day parade since 2012.

Last year, Kate beamed as she donned a turquoise coat and sipped Guinness after paying an emotional tribute to William.

She said: “‘I really couldn’t be prouder to stand in front of you here today.

“It really is a true honour to be your Colonel. I am here to listen to you, to support you, and to champion you in all you do – this is a responsibility I do not take lightly.

“I look forward to spending more time with you and your families, seeing your commitment to duty and service in all you do.

“Before I close, however, I want to thank Colonel William. He has always talked about his fierce pride for this Regiment.

“I know he will continue to support us all in the work we do.”

Prince William had been the honorary Colonel of the Irish Guards in 2011 before he tied the knot with Kate and called it one of “the great honours of my life”.

Editor of The Sun newspaper Victoria Newton says it’s time to give the Princess of Wales a break from the backlash to her edited Mother’s Day photo

Kate has now been out of the public eye since the Christmas service in Sandringham in December last year.

It was revealed in January this year she had been admitted to The London Clinic for a “major planned abdominal surgery”.

Kensington Palace said at the time Kate was unlikely to return to public duties until after Easter.

Rumours were sparked over the princess’ health when William pulled out of a memorial service last moth due to a “personal matter”.

But, royal fans were then overjoyed when Kate posted a heart-warming picture with her children on Mother’s Day.

However, it was shrouded in speculation after experts found the adorable snap had been edited.

It was pulled down shortly after and Kate apologised in a statement which read: “Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

“I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”

Image Meta Data said the photograph, showing Kate with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, was snapped on Saturday, and edited on Adobe Photoshop.

It showed that the pic had been taken on a Canon camera before it was put on an Apple Mac.

Five large news agencies – AP, Getty Images, Reuters, AFP and PA – all withdrew the snap over fears it had been “edited at the source”.

The palace also refused to reissue the original unedited photograph of Kate and her children.

The following day, the princess was pictured with her head turned from photographers as she left Windsor Castle by car with William at her side.

Kate was on her way to a private appointment in London, while William headed to the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.

It follows the first image taken of the royal, which The Sun chose not to publish, which showed her in the passenger seat of a car with mum Carole.
