Scobie has denied leaking the names and said no version of Endgame contained the names of the accused royals.
Meghan Markle claimed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 that there were “concerns and conversations” within the Royal Family about how dark Prince Archie’s skin might be when he was born.
The Duchess of Sussex Meghan said during the interview when outlining her decision not to name the members of the Royal Family: “I think that would be very damaging to them.”
Media outlets across the globe began to identify the King and the Princess of Wales as the royals named in the Dutch version of the book after the draft version of Endgame was published in the Netherlands.

Scobie’s agent United Talent Agency sent a final version of Endgame weeks before publication that did not name either of the royals.
But before this, an earlier draft version of the book that did name King Charles and Kate was sent to Dutch publisher Xander Uitgevers, according to The Times.
The source told the publication that the Dutch translator interpreted the draft version of Endgame rather than the final approved version of the book, which was then published.
The Royal Family and the Sussexes have not commented publicly on the claims since the names of the accused royals were reported.
