Jamie Carragher has slammed Manchester United after their humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, labelling them ‘one of the worst coached teams in the Premier League’.

It was another miserable outing for Erik ten Hag’s team, who had no answer for the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise scored two brilliant goals while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also got themselves on the scoresheet as Palace ripped through United.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Carragher said: ‘This is one of the most poorly coached teams in the Premier League, that’s a fact.’

United were missing both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford on the night and their team-mates failed to show up in their absence.

‘Your performance level will drop when you lose your best players,’ Carragher said.

‘Ten Hag needs performances, he needs belief.

‘You’ve got to make us believe there’s something here. I struggled to see how United would win tonight.

‘No United team should be getting beat 4-0 by Palace. Man United’s U23 team, I’d still expect them not to lose 4-0.

‘I’ve never been a coach or a manager, but I’ve been a player and some of the things I see are just wrong.’

Ten Hag was clearly unimpressed with his side’s defending for Olise’s first goal.

The forward received the ball from a throw-in in the centre of midfield and drifted past challenges from Christian Eriksen and Casemiro on his way to scoring.

And Carragher was scathing in his assessment of the United efforts.

He added: ‘There’s no way in the world that ball will go there, Eriksen’s got to come in here.

‘Mainoo goes in front, what is Wan-Bissaka there just doing nothing. Leadership again, no one taking responsibility.

‘Eriksen gets thrown to the floor, Casemiro has been a joke tonight.’
