‘It’s going to hit home’

Prince Harry has been dealt his “brutal reality” as his brother William has been handed a key military role, royal commentator Pandora Forsyth has claimed.

This comes as the Prince of Wales was honoured with the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps during a visit to the Army Aviation Centre in Middle Wallop, Hampshire.

The appointment of William has been dubbed a “major snub” to the Duke of Sussex, as Harry was formerly attached to the regiment during his second tour of Afghanistan until 2014.

Speaking to GB News, Forsyth defended Prince William’s appointment and said he is the “right fit for the role”, given that the honour was previously held by King Charles when he was the then Prince of Wales.

In a discussion with host Martin Daubney, Forsyth detailed the latest role for the future King and said it was the “brutal reality” for Prince Harry, having been stripped of all previous military titles.

Forsyth added that the appointment of Harry’s brother, who he has been engaged in a public feud with since stepping down from the monarchy in 2020, will no doubt “hit home”.

Forsyth told GB News: “Prince Harry knew this when he left as senior member of the working family, that he would have to give up his honorary military titles.

“So unfortunately, this is just now the reality for Harry. And it’s brutal.”

The royal commentator highlighted how Prince Harry’s close personal devotion to the military would mean the role of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps would “make sense” for him to be given.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Forsyth explained: “Even though this wasn’t his title, lots of people for many years thought it would make sense for him to have the title.

“Of course, it’s going to hit home because it’s very personal for him. And I’m sure that’s not lost on the King or his brother William, but it’s just the fact of reality.”

In further defence of the Prince of Wales, Forsyth reminded Martin of William’s equally devoted work in the military and his “due service”.

She added: “To be quite frank with you, it’s not like William has gone in there without due service. He also had a military background.

“He also has military experience as well with helicopters. So he is the right fit for the role. But for Harry, of course, this will most definitely hurt.”

Martin was in agreement with Forsyth, and claimed that Prince Harry has “made his bed and needs to lie in it”.

He added: “When you stand down from royal duties and those military roles that come with that and they fall by the wayside, this is the destiny that you chose.

“And he chose a destiny which involved Netflix and Nigeria, not one of duty.”
