A TEENAGE Rangers fan has snapped up a Gers supporters’ pub as he kicks off the start of his business empire.
Mitchell Carling, 16, bought the boozer after leaving school to start his own investment firm.
The teen, from Dundee, is following in the footsteps of entrepreneur parents Graeme and Leanne Carling – who have a large property collection.
And the youngster has now made the Bar None venue in Benalmádena, Costa Del Sol, the first addition to his own business portfolio.
The aspiring tycoon has set his sights on upgrading the popular bar, which has been running for more than 20 years.
The young Light Blues fan says that while he can’t work in the venue due to his age, he will focus on “identifying and buying the best regional venues and working with experienced managers”.
Mitchell, who attended the High School of Dundee and Strathallan School before moving abroad, told The Courier: “From a young age I’ve been interested in making my own money.
“I support Rangers FC and would go to that bar to watch games with my family.
“We got to know the owner who was looking to retire, which made it an easy deal to do.
“The bar’s really popular among Rangers fans and has been on the go for more than 20 years.
“We’re now in the process of investing in upgrading the bar.”
Mitchell hopes to expand his portfolio and has ambitions to earn £1million a year.
He added: “I have no plan in working in a single bar. I’m looking at the big scale here. I’m looking to own a few – or more than a few – at the same time.
“I’d like to at least have 10 businesses in the next two or three years. Hopefully with EDITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) of more than £1m.
“I’m planning all the investments to be mainly hospitality, bars and restaurants, in Spain.”
The teen says having his parents on hand for support and advice is a “major benefit”.
He added: “I’m excited to get started in business. We’ve identified a pipeline of exciting acquisition prospects.”
