Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have reportedly been left humiliated as their invitation to spend Christmas with the Royal Family “has been withdrawn” before it was even sent out.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, along with their children Prince Archie, four, and Princess Lilibet, two, were rumoured to be spending the festive season in the UK this year. It would have been the first time the couple spent Christmas with the Royal Family since 2018. However, one royal expert has suggested that Harry’s father, King Charles, may have rescinded the invitation after the release of Omid Scobie ’s explosive new book, Endgame.

Harry and Meghan last spent Christmas with senior members of the Royal Family, including Prince William and Kate Middleton, back in 2018, just seven months after they tied the knot in a star-studded ceremony in Windsor. It was speculated that the couple would be heading back to the UK to spend Christmas Day with King Charles, after the frosty relationship between Harry and his father had begun to thaw.

However, royal expert Richard Eden suggested that any invitation sent by the king to his youngest son will most likely be withdrawn. “I suspect that they [Harry and Meghan] are probably annoyed with Scobie as the rest of the Royal Family,” he explained.

“Over recent weeks, the Sussexes had been desperately trying to mend fences with King Charles, phoning him on his birthday and friends dropping hints about how they would like to be invited to Sandringham for Christmas. From what I hear, any invitation that might have been will not be withdrawn,” the royal insider added to the Daily Mail.

In 2019, although they were still senior members of the Royal Family, Meghan and Harry decided to spend their son’s first Christmas with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, in America. The couple moved to the US after stepping back from the Royal Family in 2020.
