Geri Horner’s marriage has been under scrutiny in recent days after hundreds of sexts alleged to have been sent from her husband Christian to a female member of his team were leaked
Geri Horner helped the woman who rocked her marriage get a job with husband Christian Horner – a report has claimed.
The 51-year-old Spice Girl has seen her nine-year marriage to 50-year-old F1 boss Christian come under strain in recent days as reports have claimed he sent inappropriate texts to a woman he had employed. It has been claimed that Geri herself was familiar with the woman in question before she started working with Christian – and had helped her secure the job.
Geri and Christian have been married since 2015 and share a seven-year-old son named Montague George Hector Horner together. Christian is also step-father to Geri’s 17-year-old daughter, Bluebell Madonna – from her previous relationship with screenwriter Sacha Gervasi. The family have been riding shockwaves in recent days after messages allegedly from Christian to a female employee were leaked.
He strongly denied he had done anything inappropriate, and he was cleared of wrongdoing by Red Bull – the formula one company he has been Team Principal and CEO of since 2005. He was cleared of misconduct following allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards a female colleague. The dad-of-two was grilled for eight hours by a lawyer after an investigation was launched by Red Bull GmbH and denied the allegations throughout.
It’s now been claimed Geri knew the female at the centre of the scandal. The source claimed to the Daily Mail: “They actually have a mutual friend and Geri liked her. In fact, she would speak positively about her.
“She heard she was in line for the job and randomly, one of Geri’s old friends from her Spice Girls days knows this woman, so Geri put a word in. Geri likes to think she is a girl’s girl in many ways and thought she was doing a good thing back then. You can only imagine how she may regret that now.”
On Saturday, Geri and Christian put the scandal behind them as they put on a united front while attending the Bahrain Grand Prix at the Bahrain International Circuit. They arrived at the sporting event walking hand-in-hand and were later shown passionately kissing as they worked to put rumours that their marriage was on the rocks to bed.
Piers Morgan was among those to comment on the affectionate moment as he took to social media to share footage of Geri and Christian holding hands in front of the world’s media. He wrote on X: “Geri stands by her man.”
The scandal has been a talking point for much of the weekend, however, and even featured in a gag during the 2024 BRIT Awards. Show host Roman Kemp took aim at the couple as he mingled with the packed audience at London’s O2 arena as music fans and chart topping stars turned out to find out who won a string of awards. He quipped while passing between tables of party guests: “It’s busier here than at the Red Bull’s press office.”
