In a new gameplay trailer, FromSoftware announced Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree will release for PS5, PS4 on 21st June 2024 for £34.99 / $39.99. Check it out above (you’ll need to skip the 30-minute countdown).
The story setup goes as follows: “Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot. In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.”
FromSoftware has described Shadow of the Erdtree as its “largest expansion to date”, adding in an entirely new map called the Land of Shadow. You’ll be able to seamlessly travel back and forth between the original map and this new one, where you’ll find “new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic” and “new enemies, boss encounters and plotlines to further increase players’ RPG freedom”.
As well as the base DLC, there’s also a Premium Bundle that packs in a digital soundtrack and artbook. There’ll also be digital bundles that package the base game with the expansion, and a physical collector’s edition that includes a 46cm statue of Messmer the Impaler.
