Crisp lovers gutted as Walkers confirms ‘ONLY flavour they want for Christmas’ is axed… where to grab last few bags

WALKERS fans are gutted after the crisps giant confirmed a beloved flavour has been axed – but the last few bags can be nabbed.

The snack maker apologised to one Walkers lover who said she was unable to find her favourite Regal Lamb and Mint crisps in stores.

The fan tweeted: “All I want for Christmas is some Lamb and Mint,” before tagging the crisp company.

Fans’ hearts were broken when Walkers confirmed the popular flavour was only available for a specific occasion.

“Regal Lamb & Mint was just a limited edition for the King’s Coronation, but we’ll let our team know you’d love to see them made permanent,” they responded.

A selection of supermarkets including Tesco, Asda and Co-op are still stocking the flavour, but famished fans should stock up soon before they’re gone for good.

Walkers launched the flavour as part of its Sensations range to celebrate this year’s Coronation of King Charles.

Inspired by quintessential British classics, King Prawn Cocktail and Regal Lamb and Mint both included a striking regal themed design.

In 2022, Sensations saw 41% brand growth in the week of the Platinum Jubilee with its special-release flavours, demonstrating the sales opportunity for retailers as consumers come together to celebrate historical moments.

It comes after Walkers also pulled the plug on its salt and vinegar flavour Quavers.

The retro flavour first joined Walkers’ lineup back in 1993 and returned to shelves in 2021 along with prawn cocktail Quavers after demands from crisp lovers.

However, not everyone was disappointed by the decision.

Comedian Tim Vine humorously remarked: “Just trying to decide if salt and vinegar flavoured Quavers are a good idea or the beginning of the apocalypse.”

Elsewhere, fans were left furious after Walkers stated that it has changed the recipe of a hugely popular crisp flavour.

One fan raged that they had “already created perfection in crisp form”, and slammed the new recipe.

Crisp connoisseurs noticed the flavour doesn’t taste quite the same as it used to, and one put their queries to the company.
