Corrie fans ‘work out’ Lauren kidnapper after suspect ‘lets slip’ giveaway | TV & Radio | Showbiz & TV

Coronation Street viewers think they’ve cracked the mystery of who’s behind Lauren Bolton’s sudden disappearance after a character seemed to “slip up” and give away a hint.

Roy Cropper, who was mistakenly arrested on suspicion of murder, is in the spotlight. Fans will remember that Lauren, a troubled young girl, left the street without warning earlier this year, leaving her boyfriend Bobby worried when he discovered her flat unlocked and empty.

Lauren’s departure was unseen by viewers, and it appears she didn’t tell anyone about her plans to leave Weatherfield except Roy, as she disappeared instantly. Bobby reported Lauren missing to the police, and Roy, known for his kindness, became a suspect, particularly after he was found innocently cleaning Lauren’s flat, which some took as a sign of guilt.

Earlier this week, Max Turner overheard David and Shona Platt wondering if Lauren’s father’s extremist group could be involved in her disappearance. Max secretly visited Lauren’s dad Reece in prison, questioning him about his daughter’s location and accidentally revealing that Roy had been falsely accused of Lauren’s murder.

Reece didn’t know where his daughter was, and later, two suspicious men, friends of Lauren’s dad Reece, held Roy hostage at his cafe and questioned him.

In recent scenes, Roy and Daniel Osbourne found themselves under police investigation as Lauren’s former tutor. In the latest episode, Max stirred up trouble by suggesting to Bethany Platt that Daniel could be a suspect.

After hearing this, Daniel confronted the troublesome teen.

Deciding to turn the tables, Daniel implied that Max could be responsible for Lauren’s disappearance and was trying to shift the blame onto others. However, his confrontation with Max led to him being suspended from work.

During the same broadcast, the Weatherfield locals arranged a vigil for Lauren. Surprisingly, Max spoke about Lauren in the past tense, leading Bobby to scold him for his negative outlook.

The audience grew suspicious, speculating that Max might be involved in Lauren’s disappearance after previously considering Bobby or Tommy Orpington as potential culprits.

Viewers took to Twitter to voice their theories. One person tweeted: “What was that Max? You know she’s not coming back. Why’s that then #Corrie”, while another wrote “”We’re not going to see her” ………….. Max do you know something everyone else doesn’t? ! ? #Corrie”.

Another viewer questioned: “How is Roy a suspect but Max isn’t? #Corrie”.

On social media, fans are sharing their thoughts about the latest drama in Coronation Street. One viewer suggested: “Wonder if Max has something to do with it? ? He’s very keen to throw other people under the bus! #Corrie”, while another said: “Max has set this up #corrie” and someone else commented: “Daniel does have a point.. how comes Max isn’t being treated as a suspected? #Corrie.”

Some fans also suspect Bethany might be involved after a scene where Daniel asked her: “I don’t think Roy killed Lauren, do you? ” and she hesitated before answering: “No” with a look that seemed a bit dodgy. A fan speculated: “Just putting it out there, but Bethany’s involved I think #corrie”, another one shared: “i was thinking that, the way she was talking it’s almost like Bethany knows Daniel’s innocent #Corrie” and another added: “Bethany knows more, I’m certain #Corrie.”
