More people eligible for Cold Weather Payments are due to get £25 after triggers in 11 postcodes.

People who qualify and live in certain parts of the East Midlands will get the cash, intended to help towards the additional costs when very cold weather hits.

The DWP also updates its Cold Weather Payment postcode checker when there is a trigger, with the checker now confirming payments are due in the 11 postcodes listed below.

Cold Weather Payments are triggered when the average temperature in the area is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below over seven consecutive days.

When there is a trigger, people who are eligible for the payments will get £25 for the period.

The Cold Weather Payment scheme has been scrapped in Scotland, and replaced with the annual Winter Heating Payment.

“This is part of our wider plan to help those who need it the most, while our number one priority remains driving down inflation – and helping everyone’s money go further.”

  • Pension Credit
  • Income Support
