Death In Paradise icon Neville Parker has teased who will be replacing him in Saint Marie.

Neville – played by Ralf Little – has made a decision that he needs to leave the island in order to find ‘The One’. After an unsuccessful search for love, and the arrival of his ex in Saint Marie, who was seemingly keen for the pair to get back together, Neville decided that he needed to go travelling to find his future wife and made plans to lave the island.

When it seemed like the only option was for Neville to leave, there was a call to the Commissioner from none other than DS Florence Cassell to say she was out of witness protection and was heading back to Saint Marie, but will she get there in time to see Neville before he heads off and what does this mean for Neville’s future on the island?

Tonight, Neville made a comment to seemingly hint about who would be replacing him. As Naomi came over to see how he was and how he was getting on with his packing, she noticed none of his stuff was packed yet and the house was very tidy for someone going away. As she told him it wasn’t in as much of a disarray as she expected, he replied: “Tell me about it, I’ve still got loads to do, stuff to buy for my trip, accommodation to book. Plus I need to make a list of Harry’s dietary requirements for whoever moves in next. I was going to make a start on it last night but I got distracted by the case.”

Could this be the biggest clue yet on Neville’s replacement when he follows through with his plan to go travelling?

Ralf Little – who plays Neville – has yet to comment on a potential exit for his character, but he has been open on his time on the show and how he’s, so far, the longest running detective to ever lead the programme.

“Episode sixty nine was my first as DI Neville Parker, which is (almost) 7/10ths of the way to one hundred. So, the bulk of it was already there. But the idea that I’d be able to do another thirty one episodes on top of that to reach one hundred is astonishing. If I’m really honest, I was just hoping to get to the end of the first series and for everybody not to hate it. Everything after that was a bonus!” he said earlier this year as the show celebrated its 100th ever episode.

“At the risk of sounding like a footballer going, ‘It’s all about the team’, these personal milestones are lovely to reach and they’re incredibly satisfying. But it is all about the show, the people loving it and everyone working together.”
