This is the Noctua GPU in black
ASUS and Noctua have recently unveiled their latest collaboration result in an updated GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER graphics card. This model is more or less a refresh of the RTX 4080 Noctua design that has been extraordinary for various reasons, such as massive quad-slot design, use of Noctua’s high-end PWM series fans, a very high price and use of the Noctua’s color scheme.
While the card offers impressive cooling capability, the same cannot be said about the design. The color scheme is something not all enthusiasts appreciate because the iconic brown color scheme is hardly a good combination with any modern PC build. For this reason, GPU enthusiasts were asking for a black version, which shouldn’t be too complicated to make, considering Noctua already has its Chromax Black fans with the same specs.
Now, thanks to the work of YouTuber and Filmmaker Matt Lee, we get a glimpse of how such a design could even look. His work departs from the traditional brown and beige color scheme palette to create something in black and silver. Most of the original design colors are already either black, dark gray or silver, with the only exception being the logos on the side and backplate.
Neither ASUS nor Noctua has ever confirmed plans for a black design featuring Chromax fan series. Yet, this is something that everyone has been asking for. Lee is apparently still working on the project, and we might get a better look at this unique mod later on.
What if ASUS x Noctua made a 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘅 GPU? 👀 Here’s something I’ve been working on to give you an idea of how it could look! Two Chromax NF-A12x25 fans with matching mono accents… it’s certainly a vibe 🖤 Would you have this in your rig?@Noctua_at | @ASUSUK | #Noctua pic.twitter.com/TLDHIJWYzG
