Gunners eye in-demand centre-back
Arsenal are interested in Sporting Lisbon’s Goncalo Inacio with A Bola claiming the Portuguese side are concerned he could leave.
The 22-year-old centre-back is often linked with Europe’s top clubs, including Manchester United.
Liverpool deny Arsenal Jones interest
Liverpool are not aware of any interest from Arsenal regarding Curtis Jones, according to Anfield Watch.
Jones has developed into a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the last 12 months and is arguably now the preferred option on the left side of the manager’s midfield three when available.
Some reports have claimed that Premier League rivals Arsenal have taken an interest in Jones ahead of a possible summer move. However, this is wide of the mark.
Those rumours were then fuelled by a report which claimed that Jones used to broadcast his boyhood fandom of the Gunners at the Reds’ training ground as a youngster.
Anfield Watch understands that Liverpool are very much the homegrown star’s club and that his intention is to keep performing and earning the manager’s faith.
Campbell backs Arsenal for title
Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes the Gunners are still in the title race despite the recent dip in form.
He told Sky Sports: “Aaron Ramsdale, England international, got the club to the Champions League, and Mikel Arteta decided that he’s going to bring in better competition,” Campbell told Sky Sports.
“That’s not rocket science, considering Matt Turner went to Nottingham Forest. But the fact of the matter is that Arteta decided that he prefers Raya in goal to Ramsdale.
“I think that’s when the wheels started to really come off, the way the player [Ramsdale] had been treated. But I think it’s died down a bit now.
“I can’t see Arsenal letting Ramsdale leave in January. I think once you get to the summer, then you can move and see how things go.
“But I think Arsenal are still in with a title shout, and they’re going to need both keepers.”
Arsenal told to quit moaning
Gabby Agbonlahor has told Mikel Arteta and Arsenal to ‘shut up and stop moaning’ after complaints about the treatment of Bukayo Saka.
Speaking on The Sports Breakfast, Agbonlahor said: “Shut up, stop moaning. It’s all you hear off Arteta and Arsenal – get on with it, it’s football.
“Back in your day, you used to get fouled every time you got the ball. Look at the clips of Maradona, he used to get two-footed in the chest!
“Messi – kicked, kicked, kicked – he just gets up, takes a quick free-kick and gets on with it.
“Honestly, just stop moaning. Get on with your game.”
