Andrew Scott Asked About Barry Keoghan in BAFTAs Red Carpet Interview – The Hollywood Reporter

Andrew Scott stepped away from a red carpet interview with BBC News at the BAFTAs after he was asked inappropriate questions about Saltburn star and BAFTA nominee Barry Keoghan.

Scott, who was in attendance alongside his All of Us Strangers co-star Paul Mescal because the movie was nominated for six awards, including outstanding British film, was asked to chat by veteran BBC entertainment correspondent Colin Paterson.

Instead of asking about the critically-acclaimed queer drama, Paterson opted to focus on asking Scott his thoughts on Keoghan’s penis. In the now-viral clip, the correspondent said, “Do you know Barry well?” Scott, who seemingly didn’t know the direction that the conversation was heading in, beamed, “Yes! I know Barry, yeah!”

Paterson then asked, “OK, your reaction when you first saw the naked dance scene at the end of Saltburn?” Scott uncomfortably laughed and responded, “It’s great, it’s great.” He added, “I won’t spoil it for anybody.” Paterson kept pestering about the subject despite Scott’s discomfort: “There was a lot of talk about prosthetics. How well do you know him?” Smiling, Scott waved Paterson off and walked away from the interview.

On social media, many criticized Paterson’s decision to ask such questions.

Oppenheimer was the big winner at the BAFTAs, taking home seven awards including best film. All of Us Strangers and Saltburn were shut out.

The host has yet to comment on his line of questioning and neither the BBC nor Scott have replied to The Hollywood Reporter‘s request for comment.
