People may be wondering where they can have a pint on Christmas Day. Now it’s been confirmed 20 out of the 24 Wetherspoons pubs across Devon will be open on Monday, 25 December, but for a limited time.
Pubs will be open at 11am until 3pm, and will only be serving drinks. So if you are in Paignton, Newton Abbot, Plymouth or Exeter, you will be able to enjoy a quick drink to get you in the festive spirit before the big Christmas lunch, and if you don’t celebrate, then you can visit for four hours.
It has been a tough year for the company, owned by Exeter-based businessman Tim Martin, as it closed more than 30 branches. Despite there being more than 800 sites across the UK and employing around 43,000 people, it has not managed to escape the effects of both the coronavirus pandemic and the rising cost of living crisis.
