A woman suffered serious injuries after a crash, which shut a Gwynedd road for hours. The collision happened on a stretch of the A494, near Dolgellau, in the early hours of Saturday.
She was initially taken to the Wrexham Maelor Hospital, but was later transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, which has a major trauma unit. Police have appealed for witnesses.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “A woman remains in hospital with serious injuries following a road traffic collision in Dolgellau. Shortly before 2am on Saturday, April 13, officers responded to a report of a one vehicle collision on the A494 involving a black Ford Focus. The driver was taken to Ysbyty Maelor in Wrexham but she has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke.

“Officers are urging anybody who may have been travelling along the A494 during the early hours of Saturday and who may have dash cam footage, to contact officers at the Roads Crime Unit via the website or by calling 101, quoting reference number 24000336644.
The road was re-opened shortly before midday on Saturday.
