People have shared their dismay after Ring doorbell footage captured a man running away from gunshots.

No injuries or damage were reported. Video from a Ring doorbell, which has been shared widely on social media, shows a man running for his life as another person appears to open fire with a gun.

After the ECHO reported on the footage, many people shared their shock at the incident. Writing on the ECHO’s Facebook page, Graham Dempsey said: “Will this ever end?” Vicky Matthews added: “I hope they get the b******* whoever they are. I can’t believe this is happening where I live.”
Other people described the incident as “disgusting”. The attack happened on the other side of the road from where the clip was taken.
A man can be heard shouting on the video, however it is unclear what he says. Shortly after the first man comes into view of the camera, a second figure appears to sprint after him.

rdon and carrying out CCTV enquiries. Police said they believe the shooting was “targeted”. On Thursday police said 23 stop and searches had been carried out since the incident.
Detective Chief Inspector Phil Atkinson from our Firearms Investigation Team said: “Our initial enquiries suggest that this was a targeted incident, and we’re looking to establish the full circumstances and find those responsible. If you live in the area or were passing by and saw, heard or captured anything, including anyone running away from the scene, please come forward.
“Although nobody was injured, to fire a gun in a residential street is incredibly reckless and can have devastating consequences. Officers will remain in the area carrying out enquiries today, and I want to assure those people who live and work nearby that we will be relentless in removing those responsible and their weapon from the streets. Tell us what you know, and we will do the rest.”
