Best known for her time as host on This Morning in the late ’90s and early 2000s, Britton is hoping to make a friend or two while in the Big Brother house.
Ahead of her appearance on the show, Britton said: “I think it would be lovely to make a friend or two. That would be nice. But mostly I think, when you get to this age, it’s nice to learn new things about yourself.
“What you can stick, what you can’t stick, what you like and don’t like, and I think that would be a very good test for me. I’ve been sitting in Cornwall for so long, you know life has been good to me, it’s been very easy and I think I need a bit of sand in my life. A bit of grit.”

Many viewers will remember Fern Britton from her time on This Morning in the early ’90s. She worked alongside John Leslie and Phillip Schofield before leaving the show in 2009, after which she was replaced by Holly Willoughby.
Since then, Fern has featured on various programmes including Strictly Come Dancing, My Cornwall with Fern Britton and Britain’s Best Places to Live 2023.
Ahead of her appearance on the show, a source told The Sun: “She wants to show the public a different side to her – unscripted and unapologetic. She has a lot of stories to tell and she won’t hold back.”
For the most part, Fern has kept to herself in the Big Brother house but she definitely lifted the lid when it came to nominations.
When asked who she would like to nominate, she told Big Brother she would be nominating Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu.
“She [a] couple of times suggested that I could fit into one of her bikinis and get into the hot tub. There’s no way I’m gonna do that, but she’s asked me two or three times saying, ‘We’re going to do it, we’re going to do it and I’m going to make you over.
“I’m going to put you in different clothes.’ It scares me, I don’t want to do any of it and I’m not going to do any of it!”
