PlayStation is currently sending out notifications on PS5 and PS4, telling users that they’ll no longer be able to post shares to Twitter (also known as X, but no one in their right mind actually calls it that) from the 13th November.
“This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5 / PS4, and the ability to post and view content, Trophies, and other gameplay related activities on X directly from PS5 / PS4,” the notification confirms.
It’s a sudden change, and it means that Sony will miss out on some degree of free advertising, as players will no longer be able to share their meme-worthy moments on the social media platform (at least, not directly). A shame, we feel, although plenty of people will tell you that Twitter is circling the bowl right now anyway.
Are you sad to see this functionality go? Did you ever post anything from your PlayStation console to Twitter? Cast a vote in our poll, and try not to be too miserable in the comments section below.
