The Chase fans have paid tribute after they recognised a “legend” on today’s show.
As ever, Bradley Walsh hosted the popular quiz show on ITV on Tuesday. Tom, Estelle, Jessica and Pete had never met before but they worked together to try and beat the chaser and take home a sum of money.
But they were up against one of the UK’s biggest brains, Paul Sinha, also known as the Sinnerman. And the game was not off to a great start as straight away, the first two players were caught and sent home.

Jessica bravely went for the high offer of £45,000 and made it back to the team as fans took to social media to praise her actions. But it was Pete who stole the show.
Pete introduced himself as a “semi-retired medieval trader” who has also worked as a scare actor. One person wrote on X, formerly Twitter: “Oh I just love Pete.”
Upon Pete’s turn, fans took to social media to share their tributes as they said he had tragically died and they recognised the “legend”. One person wrote: “RIP Pete.”
Another said: “I remember Pete, he died didn’t he RIP”, coupled with a sad emoji face.
A third added: “Beloved Pete, God Bless him. Rest in Eternal Peace.” A fourth simply said: “Pete the legend.”
Another said: “RIP Pete, he seemed like a lovely man.” A fifth fan commented: “Can’t watch this without feeling a bit sad.”
Pete made it back to the final chase after taking the minus offer of -£5,000. The two faced the chaser in a tense final battle but were caught with just one second remaining.
